5818 Germantown Avenue (Vernon Park), Philadelphia, PA 19144
The Vernon Park Rain Garden Demonstration project is a tool to educate local residents and school groups about the benefits of green infrastructure in stormwater management. The garden is contoured with various elevations, containing native shrubs, trees, herbaceous plants and plant and bulb zones. We are diverting rain water from 6 downspouts off the Center in the Park Building, through 3 vegetated bio-swales and piping.
