Rain Garden Information

99 Graham Avenue, Berlin, MD 21811
This rain garden was planted along one entire side of the Berlin Church of Christ parking lot, which the town of Berlin allowed to be expanded under the condition that a rain garden be planted to catch runoff from the impervious lot. Grow Berlin Green managed the project in partnership with the Town of Berlin and members of the church, through funding by Town Creek Foundation. The shady garden was filled with native plants including Eupatorium coelestinum (Mistflower), Iris versicolor (Blue Flag Iris), Onoclea sensibilis (Sensitive fern), Sisyrinchium angustifolium (Blue-eyed grass) and three native shrubs.
