Rain Garden Information

818 Kitts Hummock Road, Dover, DE 19901
Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve at St. Johns. The rain garden, one of two, was installed along the front of the building and helped to alleviate pooling water issues. It was planted as part of a Coastal Training Program on rain garden installation techniques in March 2011. The plants are all native and include: Winterberry, Virginia Sweetspire, Northern Bayberry, Milkweed, Butterflyweed, Wild Columbine, Boneset, Marsh Mallow, Blueflag Iris, Blazing Star, Blue Cardinal Flower, Tall Beardtongue, Bue vervain, and Ironweed.
