Rain Garden Information

Corner of Buck St and W. Pine St, Millville, NJ 08332
This was a great rain garden project for the City of Millville between the City, The Nature Conservancy, American Littoral Society, Citizens United for the Protection of the Maurice River, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Cumberland County Master Gardeners, and the general public. Surface runoff from a 7,000 sq.ft parking lot and rooftop wash into this space and historically would run right down to the Maurice River. With the installation of this garden, we are able to capture much of that rain water and divert the rest away from the river. We utilized native plants to help improve survivability and also attract native birds, bees, butterflies and other insects. This was a truly collaborative effort.
